Problem Solving

1. What do you do when you see the problem?

2. How do you approach the problem?

3. How much time do you spend on each question?

4. What questions do you go for?

I got a suitable bid in the first time, but then I managed to misinterpret Alex's little revision session and I though Blackwood was 3NT and Kingwood as 4NT.

And supposing Alex said that the correct bid was 7 spades, I would also add that I could have doubled and even did 7 No-trump. Assuming that the player does not make any mistakes, the very maximum of points can be made.

On the general issue on "problem solving", this book How to Solve It has some directions as to how to do so.

No, I haven't read it. It's listed on the school library, but does not have a classification number. The librarian says that it's still under processing. Have been waiting for a few months for it already.
