Eastbound and down

Samuel,

This is the song I wanted to put in the HKAYP presentation.

Never mind the video. (Even though it is quite cool. Look at the nice turret gun. ) Just care about the song:

The lyrics are here:

http://geminga.it.nuigalway.ie/~9934150u/stuff/eastbound.html

"We're gonna do what they say can't be done.
We've got a long way to go and a short time to get there. "
THIS FITS OUR SITUATION!

Enjoy!

do you like it?

Not bad, although a bit short.

Holst's Jupiter - The Planets works the best among the music I have, but only decently.

And the song's about a chase. Slightly tricky but otherwise okay.

Might it be possible to combine different pieces of music? And we need to centralize all our photos.

where did you put your photos in box.net?

Give me a link.

is there a way to prolong the music (repeat it and link it up)

One ironic thing is that our general bearing for the first day is about East.

The actual song (without video) is about smuggling liquor across the states. Any hint of us doing something like that?

my photos are in Martin's account. You'll have to ask him for the URL.

'Eastbound and Down' works pretty well. Try to get the music and show it to the rest of our group.

What about the good-old library music (midi file)? Works quite well. I have a real copy of it performed in a music CD, whose quality is better. Just another piece of music for consideration.

Can you as well upload your HKAYP photos to box.net? That would help alot.

As for the yearbook, I'm thinking of dividing the page into 8 sections (for the 8 groups) and each section would contain photos from that group. Preferable it should be in tiles, and with minimal editing to the photos itself. Selection criteria should be based on how well it reflects human nature (or humanity) of the expedition.

If we get two pages for the yearbook, I suggest one side nature photos, the other for photos with humans in it. If we get one page, then just photos with humans. I'll start experimenting with it soon.

Actually, would it be better to allow every group to add a (short) sentence (or two) describing the aim of their expedition? It can go along with their photos.

what does that library music have to do with AYP? I don't get it.

I like the idea of giving every group a sentence of their own.

I'll get that stuff uploaded.

people are already saying they are bored by that stuff at supstud.

Sorry. I like that as well, but people got to enjoy that.

Go ahead with "East bound and Down" then. I'll be pretty effective.

But still, be on the lookout for better songs.

Actually, apply Eastbound and Down to the photos and see what happens. If it ain't a good fit, check something else out.

Eastbound and Down works pretty well. It fitted. I've been trying quite a number of different pieces of music, but Eastbound and Down would work the best on our audience. There are several alturnatives that could be put into consideration, but Eastbound and Down would do the job.

Speaking of HKAYP, do you have any of the expedition groups' photos?

Eugene said...

no, or maybe go and check. I don't remember.

nope. The only one I have has everyone black. Also, you people didn't allow me to take a group foto on Sharp Peak because they thought it'd take too long.

So No.
